Truck Scale Application

A truck scale, commonly known as a weighbridge, is a large weighing system used for weighing trucks and freight vehicles as a whole. It mainly consists of a weighing platform, load cells, a junction box, and a weight indicator. Common types include above-ground, pit-mounted, and portable truck scales. By sensor type, they are divided into analog and digital scales. Digital truck scales offer strong anti-interference capability, long transmission distance, and easy fault diagnosis, making them the mainstream choice.

During installation, either a pit or pitless design can be selected based on site conditions, and limit stops should be installed to prevent eccentric loading and impact when vehicles drive on and off. When weighing, the truck should be fully on the platform and come to a complete stop; the indicator then displays the gross weight. With weighing management software, information such as license plate, tare weight, net weight, and time can be recorded, enabling unattended operation, automatic ticketing, and anti-fraud management.

Truck scales are widely used in logistics, mining, sand and gravel, cement, chemical, waste treatment, and port applications. To ensure accuracy and service life, regular calibration, lightning protection and grounding, drainage and cleaning, and limit stop inspection are essential. Overloading and long-term eccentric loading should be avoided.
