Load Cell Modules for Tanks and Silos

Load cell modules are essential for weighing industrial vessels such as tanks, silos, and reactors. A module consists of a load cell, top plate, base plate, and mounting accessories. It transfers the vessel load to the sensor and converts it into electrical signals for real-time material weight monitoring.

Common types include static and dynamic modules. Static modules suit ordinary tanks without agitation or wind load. Dynamic modules feature anti-overturning and side-force resistance, ideal for agitated vessels or seismic/windy areas. Typically, three or four modules support a vessel-one fixed, the others floating or semi-floating-to eliminate additional stress from thermal expansion and vessel deformation.

Selection depends on capacity, accuracy, explosion-proof and corrosion ratings, and temperature. Load cell modules are easy to install, highly accurate, and some allow sensor replacement without lifting the vessel. They are widely used in chemical, food, pharmaceutical, feed, and cement industries for batching, inventory, and process control.
